Students, faculty and staff of Wesley Theological Seminary are invited to join Damien Ministries as it commemorates its 25th Anniversary of service, as well as honoring the September 11th attacks with a concert entitled, "A Night of Songs and Remembrance." This event will be held at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in NW DC.
The featured artist is baritone James E. Laws, Jr. The performance will include a special guest performance by mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves. These vocalists, along with accompanist Mark Vogel, are aided by the joint choirs of St. Stephen & the Incarnation Episcopal Church (Columbia Heights, DC) and the Unitarian Church of Fairfax (Oakton, VA). The evening will be hosted by WJLA/ABC-7 news reporter Sam Ford.
Damien Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit organization which helps people living with HIV/AIDS. For clients, we offer case management, transitional housing, a food bank, and a retreat program. For faith communities, we offer training and workshops designed to help establish AIDS ministries. For volunteers and donors, we offer a rewarding charitable experience and memories which last a lifetime!
Tickets are $25 and directly aid Damien Ministries continued efforts in and around the Metropolitan DC region.

A collaboration of Enterprise Community Partners, East of the River Clergy-Police-Community-Partnership (ERCPCP), Georgetown University and Wesley Theological Seminary kick-off their training series with a case study of The Macedonian. In June 2011, Macedonia Baptist Church opened the doors of The Macedonian, a 36-unit apartment building in the Nauck community Arlington, VA by developing its underutilized land for families earning 50 percent and 60 percent of the area median income. The workshop is free and lunch will be served, but space is limited. We ask that you RSVP to help us plan accordingly by calling 202-649-3910 to RSVP or with any questions.
